GIORGETTO GIUGIARO: THE HUMAN BRAIN CAN DO AMAZING THINGS

Giorgetto Giugiaro is an Italian designer born in 1938.
From the very start his career was concerned with the field of automobile design.
At the age of just 17 he was taken on by the engineer Giacosa at FIAT where he worked in the styling centre; in 1959 Nuccio Bertone employed him in his firm where he was to remain until 1965. In 1968 he made the big leap to running a business when he founded Italdesign, a society with the aim of supplying the automobile industry with a complete range of services, from designing new cars from their earliest stages to various kinds of assistance. Currently the main firm has also developed a new limited society, Giugiaro Design, the activity of which is focussed on industrial and transport design.
During his career Giugiaro has received many national honours: he was awarded the title of Cavaliere del lavoro, an honours degree, as well as such prizes as the Compasso d’oro.
